Winchester, like many communities, lacks a local paper. It is hard to find information about our town, even if you know where to look, even if you have time to look there. The founders and members of the Board of the Winchester News Group are all Winchester residents.* We are committed to establishing a sustainable, trusted, and reliable nonprofit community news source for Winchester. You can help to make this budding digital community news source a reality by making a donation. Gifts of all sizes are welcomed. Broad community support for this effort will help us to secure larger gifts and grants. Please note: we will get matching grant money if you donate between Nov. 1 and Dec. 31, 2023. We'll remind you!
* Some of us are town meeting members, and most were members of Town Meeting’s 2021-22 Communications Study Committee.
PLEASE NOTE: we are prohibited by our fiscal sponsor from accepting donations directly from elected and appointed members of town boards and committees, although their relatives can donate. The exception to that rule is that we ARE allowed to accept donations from Town Meeting Members.
Processing your gift - please note
You will receive TWO emails confirming your gift. One is from Institute for Nonprofit News (INN), a national non-profit organization and our fiscal sponsor enabling your gift to be tax deductible. The other email is from News Revenue Engine, the online system used to process donations. Rest assured that your tax-deductible contribution is for Winchester News, and we will keep you up-to-date on our progress.
